Versace, Armani, Jimmy Choo and Fujitsu?

The Fujitsu Tablet PC Attends an Academy Awards Party

Let me begin by saying that I had no intention of taking anything in to the Academy Awards Party I attended other than my date, and a gift for the host and hostess. (the Fujitsu Tablet PC was neither) While its not the Governors Ball or the Vanity Fair Party, this event has been held for the past 13 years and its something I enjoy, so off I went.

The first thing I noticed when I arrived was that while it seemed like there were only few less people there was considerably less energy than in previous years. The guest list is made up primarily of those in he medical and legal professions with a few stay at home moms and Automotive executives mixed in. All people who work hard and have little free time, so when they go out to socialize they tend to enjoy themselves.

I did not set out to include my Tablet Pc in last nights festivities. The fact is the only reason it ended up out of my car and inside the party at all was because someone else needed to retrieve something off a USB key chain. As it tends to happen, once I had it inside and open people were gathering around to check it out and see what it could do. Unfortunately there wasn't much I could show them because I didn't have much installed other than Windows Journal, so I just had to make the best with what I had. So I opened Journal show how it could change handwriting to text and than how you could use it to draw a gown for next years Oscars. I cant say for sure, but It appeared that the Tablet PC was a bigger hit than Kathy Bates Diamond necklace or Renee Zellweger's Red Carolina Herrera Dress

Its to bad that the Fujitsu's battery wasn't fully charged and that I didn't have Alias Sketchbook Pro installed because after the information was retrieved from the key chain drive, Windows Journal became a drawing board for Oscar gowns, shoes, and dollar signs, providing a great deal of amusement for those trying it out while the battery lasted.

While I cant say that I would recommend Windows Journal for fashion designing, it turned out to be a new and interesting way to let others experience the possibilities of the Tablet PC.
